The University of Missouri Investment Group (UMIG) was founded by motivated Mizzou students who wanted to create an environment where like minded individuals could discuss the stock market and how to improve their individual trading strategies.
Since then, UMIG has shifted its focus to solve what we think is an enormous inefficiency at the University of Missouri – talented and hardworking students at the University lack the guidance and visibility necessary to secure Wall Street careers in investment banking or hedge fund positions.
UMIG takes a practical approach to educating our members with the skillsets necessary to succeed on Wall Street. We do not spend our meetings tracking day by day trading results or discussing the best way to take advantage of the latest market trends. Instead, we leverage the collective experience of our veteran members who have interned with Wall Street firms and pass their knowledge down to our younger members to foster efficient growth and development.
Long term, we believe that this approach to education will establish the University of Missouri as a viable option top Wall Street firms can rely on for recruiting hard working and motivated individuals.
